Liberty Dollar Update

Liberty Dollar supporters, customers and friends,

In the August 1st 2009 issue of the Liberty Dollar News, Bernard von NotHaus regretfully announced the closing of Liberty Dollar until he is acquitted.

The court has ordered that the "Defendants shall not circulate or aid in the circulation of any coins or currency in relation to the Liberty Dollar Operation".

This is in spite of the fact that Liberty Dollar never claimed to be, does not claim to be, is not, and does not purport to be, legal tender, or a coin.  Instead, the Liberty Dollar is simply honest money -- a "private voluntary barter currency" backed by silver and gold.

However, the case is now in the courts.  We can only hope that Justice prevails, and the court recognizes the right of the people to use gold and silver as a "private voluntary barter currency".

Under these circumstances, we feel we must also close Austin Silver Liberty Numismatics.  We would like to thank all of our Liberty Dollar supporters and customers.  We have enjoyed supporting your desire to save and use honest money.
